Tryptic Soy Agar (TSA)

Tryptic Soy Agar (TSA) and Tryptic Soy Broth (TSB) are among the most valuable media for post-sample analysis of marine bacteria, provided an adequate concentration of salt (NaCl) is added. The final concentration of NaCl should be between 1.5% and 2.5%. TSA and TSB already contain 0.5% NaCl, so you should add 20 g of NaCl per liter of medium to achieve the desired concentration.

Strains distributed from this Collection are grown in a TSA + 2.0% NaCl tube covered with sterile mineral oil.
